St. Paul's Women's Retreat - Feb. 27 - March 1

The Feb. 9 deadline to register for the St. Paul’s Women’s Retreat is just around the corner. This year’s guest speaker is Jo Saxton. Jo is from Phoenix, AZ, and writes, teaches and serves as a consultant and coach with 3dministries. She is passionate about the Bible and seeing women of every age, stage and culture discover their God given potential in everyday life. The music will be provided by Patti Wheat. Brochures and registration forms are available in the Skardon Hall foyer and outside the Women’s Ministry room. If you have any questions about the retreat, feel free to contact Jeanne Dukes at 821-3180 or Angela Jones at 871-1257. Scholarships are available – so don’t let money be the reason you stay home.

Parenting Conference - March 7

On Saturday, March 7, the Women’s Ministry will join with the Men’s Ministry and the Children’s Ministry in sponsoring a parenting seminar for parents of children ages 0-18. The speakers are Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN. They are co-founders of the National Center for Biblical Parenting, an organization that offers Christian parenting conferences, trains leaders to run effective parenting support groups, and provides Biblical parenting resources to churches. The parenting seminar will focus primarily on overcoming bad attitudes, accepting no as an answer, and anger in children. There will be a kid’s kamp style children’s program during the seminar with games, Bible stories, snacks and a special treasure hunt. The seminar begins at 1 p.m. and will end with a potluck meal in the Atrium at 5 p.m. This will be a wonderful opportunity to examine and strengthen your parenting skills.
